Here is a look into our upcoming week of learning:

Morning Activities:

-I See Environmental Print Book

-Numeral Writing/Lowercase and Uppercase Match Game

-Journal: I can see ______. (Use environmental print pictures)

-Journal: I see the _____. (offer pictures to glue in journal)

Morning Routines:

-Brain Gym

-I love you ritual: Twinkle Twinkle

-Well Wisher/Safe Keeper Box

-Review our general rules:

We will use watching eyes, listening ears, kind words, gentle touches, and walking feet

-Make Commitments

-Practice breathing strategies (balloon, pretzel, S.T.A.R, drain, bunny breathing, breathing arms)

-New Sight Words: see, me

We will review I, can, am, like, on, and the from previous weeks and start writing the words in elkonin boxes.

Morning Message:

-These are Letters, These are words, This is a Sentence.

-Chit-Chat Messages using letters Gg, Oo, and Qq

-Beginning Sounds Practice

-We can find words that are the same

-What is a Setting

*We locate capital letters, punctuation, rhyming words, sight words, and match sight words/letters.


We will continue to practice rotating using our literacy folders. This week, the kiddos will receive their book bags! I know they are all excited, and so am I!!!

Interactive Writing:–

-Continue writing using environmental print

-Apple writing using positional words. Example: The apple is on the tree.

*We also focus on fundamentals such as starting sentences with a capital letter, finger spacing between words, punctuation, etc..

-Introduce Grab and Count

-Begin The Counting Jar (counting items in a jar in 2 different ways and then creating that quantity using other items)

Introduce Game called Count & Cover

Writer’s Workshop/Social Studies: Continue:

-Decorate our Writer Pages for our Writing Folder Covers


Introducing Gg, Qq and Oo and teaching the appropriate strokes to create the letters. We will also continue to work on proper grip using a pencil.
